Dr. Thacker began his career over thirty years ago at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, where his interests led him to focus on procedures requiring intense technical skill. With his aviation background as a helicopter pilot for the United States Army, and his vigilance to details, Dr. Thacker pursued Anesthesiology Training at the Medical College of Georgia instead of Plastic Surgery, due to his ever-growing family.
Dr. Thacker immersed himself in procedure-based training and practice for the following 25 years and became an expert in minimally invasive spine surgery due to his personal experience with back pain and back surgery. While imbibing the principals of excellence in his practice, Dr. Thacker has now broadened his repertoire towards his original passion in aesthetics and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Thacker has numerous testimonials of positive outcomes. He received the Patient’s Choice Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and continues to work closely with his patients for outstanding results.
Dr. Thacker was the first physician to complete the revolutionary Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression procedure (Vertos Medical mild procedure) in Denver, Colorado. He has also done surgeries in conjunction with his esteemed colleague, John C. Chiu, M.D. Neurosurgeon, in California, China and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Thacker is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and board certified by the American Board of Minimally Invasive Spine Medicine and Surgery, the American Board of Interventional Pain Management, and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management.
Dr. Thacker is an active member of the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He holds multiple memberships in such well-respected organizations as the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the Colorado Medical Society, the Colorado Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
