Tattoo Removal

Rethink your ink…

Do you have Sally’s name on your arm but you’re married to Tracy?  Let us help you fix that “little” problem.

All about laser tattoo removal:

Laser light = energy: Have you ever noticed how the top of your head gets hot when wearing a dark hat on a sunny day?  That’s because the sunlight is absorbed by the color of your hat.  The ink in a tattoo is like that hat, the pigment absorbs the laser light energy and is disturbed.

Lasers disrupt the tattoo pigment, your body breaks it down: Laser energy is directed at the tattooed area for a fraction of a second, passing harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and targeting the tattoo ink directly.  The laser disrupts the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally.

How many treatments are needed?

The process is not immediate.  After the first treatment, the ink that was exposed to the laser will break down and be removed by your body’s immune system over a period of 6-8 weeks.  Once the initial process is complete, you can come in for your next treatment, repeating the process until the tattoo is gone.  Some ink colors are harder to target and require more sessions.

Why do some tattoos take longer to treat?

There are individual factors that will affect how your tattoo responds to the laser.  They are:

  • Immune system
  • Skin tone
  • Color(s) used
  • Type of ink
  • Depth of the tattoo
