How to Optimize Your MedSpa Results
At Reflections Med Spa, we like to help clients prepare for their transforming spa experiences. Each service page has the information you need to prepare for your appointment and what to expect during and after treatment. During your consultation, you'll receive instructions on how to prepare for the treatment and we’ll document the areas you want to treat so that your appointment goes smoothly and quickly.
Additionally, we are always available for questions. Here's a high-level look at the preparation and recovery for each service:
Botox. At our Chicago Med spa, we ask that you refrain from taking blood thinning medication one week prior to your Botox appointment. We also advise avoiding alcohol and certain topical treatments the day of your injection. Follow your physician’s recommendations and the advice on the page, such as taking it easy for at least 24 hours after the injection.
Cool Sculpting. It’s a good idea to avoid blood thinning medication three days prior to this body shaping treatment. The procedure takes about 35 minutes and has no downtime during recovery. Avoid tight clothing to reduce possible inflammation and allow up to 12 weeks to notice full results.
Juveau. The Juveau treatment turns back the clock on your most important facial features. You’ll see the results in two or three days! We ask that you avoid blood thinning medication one week before the treatment. You’ll also want to follow the instructions to avoid any products containing retinols and certain other ingredients. It’s also a good idea to avoid putting pressure on the treated area. So, skip the hats, headbands, and sleeping on the treated area for best results.
Juvederm. Volumize your lips, cheeks and areas around the mouth with Juvederm treatment at Reflections Med Spa. You can find more details on the page regarding what to avoid before the one-hour treatment. Additionally, avoid alcohol and direct heat during the healing phase and you may see dramatic results in as little as two weeks.
Restylane. This dermal filler leaves you with more youthful looking hands, lips, cheeks and smile lines. As with all of our treatments, preparation and proper healing lead to best results. Avoid blood thinning medications, topical products containing alpha-hydroxy acid, retinols and retinoids, and alcohol in the days leading up to your appointment.
Microneedling. Combine microneedling with platelet rich plasma therapy to trigger your body to amp up collagen production and promote facial rejuvenation. There are several things you can do to optimize your treatment. For example, avoid tanning bins and self-tanning for 24 hours before your appointment at our Chicago med spa, and review other directions on the service page. During the appointment, we extract some of your blood to obtain PRP for the procedure (Thus, the nickname “vampire facial.”) you can expect slight redness for up to 48 hours following the procedure. It's a good idea to avoid strenuous exercise for a day or two to promote healing.
Hair restoration. We ask that you eat a small meal prior to your hair restoration treatment using PRP and avoid retinal products for five days beforehand. Before the procedure, we take a small vial of blood to use in the injections on your scalp. During recovery, take it easy for a day or two and avoid strenuous exercise.
Instalift. Refine and tighten aging skin with this innovative treatment. During a personalized consultation, a certified clinician will document any medications that you currently take and provide instructions on how to prepare for the appointment. The treatment takes just 60 to 90 minutes, and you'll receive a localized anesthetic to keep you comfortable while the sutures are placed. There is a four-hour downtime following the procedure and you will receive detailed instructions on how to expedite recovery.
Along with instructions on the website, you will receive a one on one consultation and detailed instruction on what to expect before, during and after your treatment at Reflections Med Spa. Contact us today to set up an appointment for any of our effective treatments.
