The Instant Face Lift Treatment You Need to Know About

Updated: Jul 19, 2021

You can receive a cheek lift without undergoing the knife or resorting to fillers at our Chicago med spa, Reflections. InstaLift provides lift to sagging cheeks and jowls. Our board-certified physicians use threaded sutures under the skin to boost sagging tissue. These sutures have barbs and cones that grip the skin and hold it in place. Your body absorbs the sutures over time, so there's no need to come back to have them taken out.

This FDA-approved process provides immediate results and triggers your body’s natural healing process. Your body will continue to produce collagen for up to six months following this non-surgical skin lift.

Depending on your cosmetic goals, we may pair this procedure with other treatments for a dramatic, natural-looking effect.

What to Expect During the Procedure

When you choose InstaLift in Chicago, you undergo an outpatient procedure that takes about an hour. Your experienced surgeon first marks the targeted area on your jowls and cheeks to indicate where the sutures will go. You receive a local anesthetic that numbs the entire area without putting you to sleep.

Using a needle, your doctor threads the sutures in place under your skin, pulling them taut to achieve a natural-looking lift.

Following the procedure, your doctor massages the area to ensure that the cones embed deeply into the tissue and to identify and correct any irregularities.

During the procedure, you may feel a tugging sensation as the doctor places the sutures. The sutures provide lift and elevate the skin, and your body responds to the procedure with higher collagen production for up to six months after the InstaLift.

Most clients experience lasting results up to three years!

Is there a Long Recovery Process from InstaLift?

Not at all! After an InstaLift at our Chicago med spa, you may experience mild bruising and swelling. Most clients can return to their regular skincare routine within 24 hours. Your doctor may recommend over-the-counter pain medication for any soreness. Additionally, sleeping upright may reduce swelling the night after your surgery.

Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to achieve the best possible outcome. In general, avoid rubbing your face, chewing gum, and eating hard, chewy food for a few days to weeks after the InstaLift.

Avoid strenuous activity to ensure that your sutures remain in place. As the sutures relax, any pooling, dimpling or lumpiness subsides. call our office right away if you have any questions or concerns during recovery.

If puckering remains after one week, check in with your doctor. However, you probably just have to wait for the sutures to dissolve.

Pros and Cons for Your Consideration

There are several pros to choosing InstaLift. First, you notice an immediate improvement that typically lasts between one and three years. This procedure is less invasive and more cost-effective than undergoing a surgical facelift. Additionally, there's no downtime and just a few days of inflammation during the healing process. The procedure uses a local anesthetic, which is less expensive and carries fewer risks than general anesthetic.

There are a few downsides to the procedure as well. The results are temporary and may not be a good option for those with moderate skin laxity. Although you can realize dramatic results, InstaLift doesn’t produce the same effects as a surgical facelift. If you choose to combine an InstaLift with other procedures available at Reflections Med Spa, it may increase the total cost significantly.
